Singer and Opel ambassador Katie Melua begins her European concert tour tomorrow in Dresden. Named after her current album “The House“, the tour will take the artist to 50 European cities.

After the Opel FlexApp for the iPhone, the company now introduces the iPad version of the Opel Magazine, the Opel iMag. The automaker’s customer magazine adds a host of interactive elements in its digital presentation on the trendy tablet PC that make the articles livelier and engage the user.

The series production model of Opel’s revolutionary extended-range electric vehicle, the Ampera, will make its grand premiere at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show (March 3-13).

Opel Chairman Nick Reilly opened the Rüsselsheim automaker’s exhibit at the Geneva Motor Show (March 3 – 13) with an optimistic look at the year 2011. At a press conference at the Opel booth with Dan Akerson, Chairman and CEO of General Motors, Reilly said he was pleased with the company’s strong progress last year.

The ecoFLEX variant is the lowest-consumption, especially low-emission member in each Opel model line. The automaker’s commitment to being a leader in sustainable mobility is showcased in the latest low-emission ecoFLEX models.

Starting on 28 March, Opel will be selecting participants for the Project Earth Expedition. The team will be made up of young scientists and members of the public. The expedition will take place in August 2011.

The Opel Zafira Tourer Concept makes its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show (March 3 - 13). The vehicle offers a glimpse into the future generation Opel Zafira monocab trendsetter.

Opel/Vauxhall continues its portfolio expansion as the addition of a new Convertible has been confirmed today. The new Cabrio is part of the company’s €11 billion investment pledge announced approximately one year ago as part of its plan for the future.

The Opel Ampera is set to establish an entirely new segment in the European automotive market. Scheduled to enter the market later this year, the five-door, four-seat Ampera is designed to provide all the benefits of an electric vehicle while eliminating range anxiety.
